(English Abstract)
The high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) treatment device collects high-intensity ultrasound at a point in the body and causes a rapid temperature rise to treat diseases or to relieve pain through necrosis of benign/malignant tumors or targeted drug delivery of anticancer drugs. A rectal insertion type HIFU treatment device was designed for prostate treatment, and an MRI guided HIFU system was developed to overcome the limitations of the ultrasound-guided HIFU treatment device that is widely used. Electromechanical performance evaluation and treatment performance evaluation using animals were performed to secure the evidence for clinical trial approval.
